Born in West Sumatra on April 11,1967.
Syahrial started his formal education in music when he was in the high school and followed by joining Academy of Music in Wst Sumatra majoring in traditional gamelan music and singing. He graduated and got his Bachelor degree in 1997 from Indonesia School of the Arts in Denpasar, Bali.
In 1998, Syahrial moved to Jakarta and joined Gumarang Sakti, one of Indonesia’s best Contemporary Dance Group, lead by the late Ibu Gusmiati Suid and her son, Boi.G.Sakti. Syahrial composed dance music for the company’s repertoire.
Beside composing music for Gumarang Sakti , Syahrial keep continuing create new wind instrument to enrich his music composition . His latest composition is a music for meditation which combining Buddhist’s instrument with the traditional percussion instrument.
